About
What:
The Primer is a blog, established August 11th, 2017, dedicated to providing information about various STEM topics in an engaging, accessible manner through student-created articles, infographics, and podcasts. Many science blogs, journals, and magazines available tend to use esoteric language, which could daunt students who are just beginning to take a deeper interest in STEM (an experience many of us are familiar with). On the other hand, the more “easy-to-read” articles on the internet are unfortunately prone to oversimplification. We hope to make scientific content more accessible and fun by using everyday language to convey new information without excessive simplification--thus our motto, "simple words, complex content".
Who:
The Primer is brought to you by high school students all across the United States. Learn more about the people behind the magic by visiting the staff pages in the drop-down menu under the "About" tab!
We are looking to expand our staff! If you're interested in joining our team as a writer, editor, or graphic designer, please fill out an application form for joining the team here; additionally, fill out the form here if you want to become a regular writer.
